North West Cue - Limited Edition - Legends Series - No. 38 - Bob Marshall - Amateur World Billiards Champion 1962
This is a superb cue, hand made by Kevin Muncaster in Freckleton, Lancashire as part of his North West cues', Cue Sports Legends, Limited Edition series.
The cue is around 9 or 10 years old, in excellent condition having been sparingly used by one previous owner.
The dimensions of the cue are as follows:
Cue Length: 57 1/4" (145 cm)
Weight: 18.5oz (0.53kg)
Tip/Ferrule size: 9mm
The cue has a socket in the butt, though no mini-butt was issued with the cue. The cue has a 3/4 brass joint, which as you can see is the traditional style used by North West Cues.
The cue has an ash shaft, ebony butt with 5 splices in the butt with red flashes. The nameplate depicts the Legend's name ie: Australian World Amateur Billiards Champion, Bob Marshall and the Limited Edition number - 38.
Robert James Percival Marshall, OAM (10 April 1910 – 23 February 2004) was a noted Australian amateur player of English billiards. He won the World Amateur Billiards Championship in 1936, 1938, 1951 and 1962 and was runner-up three times, as well as a national snooker champion.
This is a superbly made cue, built by a master of the cue making industry, a real collector's item, but also a great cue to be used and enjoyed by any keen snooker player.
The limited Edition status simply adds to it's value and with the closure of North West Cues some 5 years ago these quality cues will sadly never be produced again and this is reflected in the asking price.
